Cockatoo by Genteel Cockatoo by Genteel
I went to a pet store with my boyfriend and this cockatoo was there. She loves the camera, craves attention and enjoyed being petted.

Edit: I was told this was a Sulfer Crested Cockatoo and they are native to Australia.

Thanks to [link] for the information.

omg what a sweetheart,
that isnt a sulphur. sulphurs are pure white and their head plumage is the only colour on them. sorry to be the party pooper. i would say its a Moluccan Cockatoo too.
(p.s all toos and teils and budgies for that matter are native to Oz)

too's sell in the uk for £900 :) so im saving my wages.

has a nice day xx

lol, she's very lucky then Too many people buy parrots, and stuff them into cages for the rest of their lives :( your Too is lucky that she has someone to look after her/him and let them run around and play. All of ours are flighted so they fly around the house

It's a great photo, nice and sharp. Though I'd say that is definetely a Moluccan Cockatoo, because she is quite pink, while Sulphurs are plain white. Also, the Sulphurs crest are more visible.

What you have there darling is a Sulfer Crested Cockatoo. They are native to Australia, and I see them flying around wild everyday. They do make wonderful companions.

Oh thank you. I was wondering what was their actual name. She was sweet and if it wasn't so expensive I would have bought it lol

I can only imagine what they were charging. It would have been really high though I bet, but you know ... they live to be 80 years old ... so if you get one, it's well and truly for life, but they get really, really attached to you, so they love you for life.

They were charging 1,800 US dollars for it.

80? WOW! That is good though.

$1800 US isn't so bad ... I mean, I want a blue and gold mackaw, but the cheapest I can get one in Australia for is $7000.00.

I guess so. It wouldn't be so bad if I had the money :)

We all wish for more money ... the world over. I am happy though when I think of others that have less than me.

Aw, she's adorable. I love the angle of this picture. It captures that silly side most cockatoos have. Hehe.
