I went to a pet store with my boyfriend and this cockatoo was there. She loves the camera, craves attention and enjoyed being petted.

Edit: I was told this was a Sulfer Crested Cockatoo and they are native to Australia.

Thanks to [link] for the information.

Aw, she's adorable. I love the angle of this picture. It captures that silly side most cockatoos have. Hehe.

What you have there darling is a Sulfer Crested Cockatoo. They are native to Australia, and I see them flying around wild everyday. They do make wonderful companions.

Oh thank you. I was wondering what was their actual name. She was sweet and if it wasn't so expensive I would have bought it lol

Indeed. I don't like caged animals but she seemed happy and always dancing.

Thank you for the favorite also.

I can only imagine what they were charging. It would have been really high though I bet, but you know ... they live to be 80 years old ... so if you get one, it's well and truly for life, but they get really, really attached to you, so they love you for life.

They were charging 1,800 US dollars for it.

80? WOW! That is good though.

$1800 US isn't so bad ... I mean, I want a blue and gold mackaw, but the cheapest I can get one in Australia for is $7000.00.
